I have not rolled this out, but 3 is severely duplicated when you make the anchor and slot the bar point: 24/18(2), 13/7, 11/5. After this play, I am not certain the opponent should use all 3s to hit.

It is hard to find good comparison positions. In 21$-21S-66, for instance, the opponent's split only takes him up to his 23pt. Closing the door (by making your bar point) is clear. 21$-52S-66 is another position where making the bar point seems clear. This time the opponent's split does take him to daylight, but the outfield checker he played from his midpoint is stacked up on his 8pt.

Without giving a sequence, we can just move the opponent's checker back one pip, as in the following diagram. That eliminates the duplication without changing to the position too much. Once again, making the bar point seems clear.

White is Player 2

score: 0
pip: 163
Unlimited Game
pip: 164
score: 0

Blue is Player 1
XGID=-a-a-AD-C--AdDa--c-e----B-:0:0:1:66:0:0:0:0:10
Blue to play 66

I am looking forward to Mochy's explanation.

Mike
