BG Buddy speedgammon demo

I think I agree that the better player will gain more from extra thinking time than the opponent (which BTW is another good argument for a good + accurate dice rolling technique).
At the moment I say this in the BG Buddy manual:
"You may wish to reduce the free seconds when using BG Buddy dice as there is no time wasted picking up the dice, shaking dice or re-rolling cocked/floored dice. In fact BG Buddy dice reduce the time taken for a match by a significant amount." ( https://bgbuddyblog.wordpress.com/#dice )
To quantify the difference, BG Buddy dice roll in 0.6 seconds +- 0.1
I think I should analyze some real dice matches to get an average real dice roll time. Starting from when they touch the dice and ending when the dice land with a legal roll.
BTW for friendly matches where one player is significantly better (maybe you are teaching your children?) BG Buddy allows indepenent clock and gracetimes.. i.e. you could start with 6 minutes and 8 free seconds while your opponent starts with 7 minutes and 12 free seconds.
Maybe there's a place for handicapped matches in backgammon? Are they already happening in some form based on ratings?
