Yes it would be helpful if this function was fully explained in the GNUBG manual.

Anyways, as I understand it, for your position;

There are 3 blots. The nearest blot to your home board can get hit by 16 rolls. The second nearest by 15 rolls. The third nearest by 12 rolls.

Also there are 9 rolls that miss.

One thing to note is that these are *total potential hits* Not all of them will be good sensible hits i.e perhaps hits that leave double or triple return shots or break primes.
