What drives me crazy is that the numbers don't seem to make sense once I run it. You win fewer games if you hit; you get gammoned more if you hit; and you only win a small fraction more gammons by hitting, so all of those numbers suggest it is wrong to hit. That is why I sent the position to Xavier in the first place....I thought possibly there was a bug in extremegammon....but both Stick and Neil saying the hit is right because of the cube inefficiency tells me that not only is it not a bug, the bot understands this factor as well. I wish I really understood it myself!
