If I may make a side-step to draughts:

Harm Wiersma, 3rd of the Netherlands when 13 years old, behind European champion (in that year, later world champion) Ton Sijbrands and former world champion Piet Roozenburg, He was also 5th in the world championships in 1968 when he was 14.

Or Slawa Tsjegolev (Russia), world champion at 18.

Or Ton Sijbrands, just failing to qualify to play a match for the world championship when he was 16 (he finished 2nd in the Challenge Mondial, the tournament to qualify for the match against Kuperman).

Probably these were the quickest rising stars in any mindsport.
