Awesome! :-)
I have a stack of backgammon books and I have a backgammon database.. It is tempting to add the positions in these books to my database and turn them into challenges one for each chapter in the books (or some other arrangement that makes sense). Whenever I get a position wrong I can grab the book and read up on the position to get a better understanding of the problem.
But there is the problem of copyright. I know Bill Robertie is not a big fan of this but others may be leaning more towards the notion that 'Positions can't be copyrighted'. The copyright holders (not Mochy himself) of the Mochy proficiency test is also against any reproduction of the positions found in these tests.
Did you check with the copyright holders of the book?
I'd like to think that reproducing positions from books can only result in an increase sale of the book as you'd need it to get to the explanations for the positions (which can't be reproduced).
I now this is a repeat subject and I suspect I have also mentioned it before! :-)
Best regards,
TP
