In Response To: OT: applied math problem (benf)

The reason the gift cards are being sold at a discount is for that very reason, implicit in the sale price. (I imagine they are being sold on any if the many venues that cater to this).

Ideally the people seeking to purchase them are planning on making an immediate purchase, therefore getting a discount on their purchase, not tying up any money in gift cards.
