I knew about Garal's board. He has pushed it on here in the past but it is definitely cumbersome. I could see a day where some conductive material with sensors could be combined into what appears to be a standard board (and special checkers) that you could optionally connect to some external computing device. I am sure that Garal's board concept will evolve as time goes on. But it is a technology in its infancy.

My question was a round about way to find out the strength of your view as it relates to just the "automated" recording of matches rather than the potential fun aspect. Your post answers my question - so thanks.
