Phil: But what about playing on a tablet? It is very little different from playing on a board
Phil -- all of your other arguments for playing on a computer and tablet are good ones. Here, I believe you missed the mark. I'm not the only one who believes that playing on a real board with real checkers is a very different experience than playing on a computer or tablet. Part of the reason I travel to a tournament to play is to have that experience.
That being said, I think it's definitely a net positive for the game to ALLOW players, if both agree, to play on a computer or tablet. I support that -- I just don't want to be FORCED to play on a computer in a face-to-face tournament (I know that's not what you were advocating).
