Some people may be missunderstanding Cancelgammon (or my proposed version of it). The cancel cube (perhaps it shouldn't be called a cube) doesn't raise the stakes, but mearly starts in the middle with each player having access to it and then can be passed back and forth like the normal cube that raises the stakes.
