Pay now or later?

Not clear at all to me. Over and over when I make these 'pay now' decisions and pliug them into XG later, I find I should have held fast. Even the 1/6 chance of rolling doubles next roll is very valuable. Also, your opponent must roll after your play, and looks like he will give up something -- the fat 5-prime, at least. And ask yourself whether black has a cube after your play? Is he doubling you, 26 pips down, after you make the safe play here? I'll say 8/3 8/2.
