Again, I recognize some live play has to be involved but that doesn't explain the phenomenon of the best players wanting to play the best players ad nauseam. (online or live)

I also don't believe the group of select players I'm referring to feel stress in backgammon. I know some people do. I've played against players who do for this reason or that and I've had students who have come to me asking me what to do to get over it. Basically, I have no idea. There is no real stress playing backgammon for me. All you do is roll dice and make the decisions you think are best. The rest is out of your hands. I get it in games/sports where one might have to perform physically but backgammon?
