Another thing that should be pointed out is that you should clear such an arrangement with the TD and the other semifanalists. If one player is much stronger than the other it is not legitimate for the better player to get a free path to the finals, especially while you have a piece of the action or "sold" your chance towin the match. Also there could be sidepool or Calcutta implications (probably not the case here since it was last chance.
