It has been suggested that if the move does not mater to the equity that it should not be counted in the denominator when calculating an error rate. If that method is used then not bearing off is a clever move in that position in an error rate matcth since it gives a chance for the next move to matter in equity. The player's error rate would be lowered after correctly bearing off on a roll such as 51 for example.
Have I said lately that I think ER matches are inferior to just using a variance reduction in which one would just always want to make the best play to win the match regardless of what the bot thinks?
