Have I said lately that I think ER matches are inferior to just using a variance reduction in which one would just always want to make the best play to win the match regardless of what the bot thinks?

I'm not entirely familiar with how variance reduction works but it seems to me that no method will always reward the best play to win the match.

Viz.: Suppose I intentionally make an error vs. some people because I believe it gives me the best chance to win the match. However it immediately leads to a closeout and the rest of their moves are forced. There is no way to differentiate their checker play in that game from that of a bot.
