Definition of 'Gammonish'?

I agree with what Phil said.
I will mention something else that I found confusing about the word "gammonish" when I first read the article. The question I had in my mind was, "Gammonish for whom? Surely it makes a difference whether the position is gammonish for White, or for Black, or for both?" I believe that the answer is yes, it does matter, but Kit is tacitly appealing to the fact that in many positions, if Play A wins more gammons than Play B, then Play A will also lose more gammons than Play B. Therefore he feels comfortable using the term "gammonish" without further qualification. However, if one wants to be careful, one should distinguish between being gammonish for White and being gammonish for Black.
