Hand-recording matches

That's not the intention of the rule (imnsho of course) and any TD who was donkey enough to see it that way I'm not sure I'd want to be involved in their tournaments.

I agree with what Rich said and thought I had implied that I would only hand record if the match itself was recorded so I did so on my time, harming me possibly, and not my opponent.

While you may say 1.5 is a rule and upholding it the TD is only doing his job, I'd point you and the TD to 1.1:

1.1 INTERPRETATION. The Tournament Rules and Procedures cannot and should not regulate all possible situations that may arise during a match. No set of rules should deprive the Director of his freedom of judgment or prevent him from finding the solution dictated by fairness and compatible with the circumstances of a particular case.
