Hand-recording matches

While it's true there are many low budget ways to record a match inputting the match is not near as quick I find as if it was down on paper and I could breeze through the transcription. (noting also, even though every digital camera or phone comes with video, for a few that still isn't as cheap as a pencil and paper) If you record via video you have to watch the video, fast forward, rewind, pause, etc... if it's on paper I can fly through. Until something comes along that also reads the video and inputs it directly into the bg program for me, manually recording the match will be my top choice when nobody else is available to record it for me directly into a bot.
As for it being a distraction, it gets much easier over time. You get into a rhythm and hardly notice it. You no longer have to think 'how do I transcribe this play', you've already done it. A lot of the time I'll write my opponent's play down before they make it so I don't need to waste the time returning to my paper on my turn. If I ever do feel it's distracting or I start running low on time I quit recording the match and have done so in the past.
I'd prefer someone there entering my every match straight into the bot but until that happens I'm content with manual recording.
