True, Bob. Each tournament should be assigned a weighting factor based on entry fee, length of matches, and prestige/history of the event. Marte Carlo would rank high on all three and would deserve a high weighting factor. The ABT Master points system already factors in the field size.

On the other hand, if I came along and hosted a 7-point single elimination tournament and called it the "Western Hemisphere Championship" and charged $ 1000 entry fee, my tournament should be assigned a low weight because of the short matches and lack of prestige/history.
