Golf world ranking system is founded on average points

I would accord more points to high prestige/higher quality fields, but they would be harder to win because of the higher quality field that gets attracted to them.

Does high prestige mean high quality? Maybe, or maybe not. My impression is that average quality in Monte Carlo is not considered to be very high. Anyway, the average score could be calculated as (total score)/(weighted event count), where high prestige events have a greater counting weight than low prestige events.
