Ah, yes, I misunderstood you. In that case, my reply would be similar as the one to Steve: What I meant to say was that you first try to find out what your best practical chance in real backgammon would be, and then you do a slight adjustment towards aggressive checker play and an even slighter one to passive doubling. Of course, if your starting point is what you think the bot would play, you first have to adjust from bot to human play, which, as it happens, may mean less aggressive checker play (Timothy would disagree) and more aggressive doubling (to get future cube errors out of your way and, maybe, optimize Woolsey's doubling rule vig).
