Why can't we learn from Chiva?

I agree completely. I don't think every tournament should use any one system, and I can certainly see how different sizes of events, and club events vs. major events should be different. And if you truly have a great rating system and data base to use in seeding and in separating divisions, that is also fantastic. I also love a modified Swiss.

I think we agree that different formats, computerized programs you can view on line, and rules and policies that allow for accurate scheduling, and good and fair rules, reasonable pricing and rakes, are all of great benefit to the players, spectators, and their families who may wish to attend and travel and have reasonable schedules for free time.
