Why can't we learn from Chiva?

Congratulation of your many, continuing innovations, Chiva. I hope that the tournament directors in the U.S. will consider using the FT system. I believe it would be a great improvement over what most tournaments are offering now. I hope you would consider licensing the system so that people here don't have to reinvent the wheel since you already have the software etc.

NOTICE TO TOURNAMENT DIRECTORS: Players get tired of the same old format over and over. Variety is fun. A system that guarantees more matches before you are knocked out of the main event keeps everyone interested and excited longer and keeps you from losing just because of one or even two horribly unlucky matches. Players also like clocks and a format that tells you exactly when your next match starts (and ends) so you can plan to be with family and friends or just relax a reasonable period of time between matches and so you know you won't have to be up until 2AM or wait an hour or more for your next match.

Chiva's events have solved these problems (and others, including requiring legal moves, which the better players OVERWHELMINGLY WANT).

We have GREAT tournament directors here in the U.S. The ABT is exciting and has a strong following (including me). But isn't it time to stop doing things they way they have been done just because that is the way they have been done? Every sport and game you can name (even Baseball) has changed major rules and gone to playoffs and keeps "improving" to make the game better for the players and spectators. Let's learn from what works, and from what makes tournaments more fun and fair for the players.
