European SpeedGammon Championships

WBA announces a world novelty: For the first time, an entire main event of a tournament will be played in a SpeedGammon style (9 point matches, time settings 4 minutes total bank time + 10 secs per move).

The FT-System (out after 3 losses) will apply.

Part of the prestigious European Backgammon Tour 2013 (EBGT VII), the "European SpeedGammon Championships" will be held in Gibraltar from 17th to 20th of October 2013. Master Points will be given for each match you win and the winner will qualify for the Grand Finale of EBGT 2013.

An affordable entry fee, no registration fee and added money will help to determine who the best SpeedGammon player is.

The main event will be preceded by a Doubles tournament (9 points, single elimination, time settings: 27 min. + 12 secs delay), also with no registration fee and added money.

Various side-events and jackpots will round up the backgammon challenge.
