USBGF rate increase

We initially structured our rates on the US Chess Federation, something that the current board members have evidently forgotten or in a few cases never knew.

The new rates will be over 30% more than the USCF rates. The USCF offers far more benefit, relatively, than the USBGF does for its members, largely because of the existence of the ABT.

Extracting obnoxiously high membership fees from a core group already, in many cases, already tentative about paying, is ridiculous.

There are other ways to raise the revenue the USBGF needs.

I would urge everyone to view the USCF rates, think about the relative benefits each organization offers its members and then let the USBGF know they are making a mistake. I would urge that no one pay membership fees until the new rates are rolled back or a more modest increase is put in place. Given the membership benefits relative to those of the USCF these rates are distasteful.
