The question you asked above is hard to quantify, but I think it is obvious that the weaker the players the more likely you are to reach postions with unusual checker distributions.

In a previous thread where I mentioned that a database of human matches would be tremendously valuable. You asked " How is it tremendously valuable? Anyone could just have XG play itself to see top play."

Two things jump to mind. 1- If we want to optimize our decisions otb we need to have an understanding of how people play. 2- Personally, I find it much more interesting to play through a match between actual players as opposed to computer vs computer. For me, there is a human element that enhances my enjoyment of the game.
