You missed my point and then ironically argue for it.

Just having a lot of entrants in the highest division (like the European open golf tourney) should not make something a major. That seemed to be your sole criterion for including LO. Note though that the average strength of a participant in the London Open is not that high (due in large part to there being one division). Also note it is a single elimination tourney with 5 point matches. It is great for what it is but is not a premier test of backgammon.

If you do want to use numbers as a main criterion the single division makes comparing participants in championship division not a fair comparison to ABT tournaments.
