In Response To: PR against XG vs. live PR (John O'Hagan)

Live, you don't have the pip count; live you have to concentrate more because you have to make sure your opponent isn't making illegal moves; live you have noise and distractions; live, in tournament play, you have a much greater fatigue factor; live you have far greater time constraints...whether using a clock or not; live you make cube decisions with the idea that your opponent may make a mistake, regardless of his skill level; live you alter your cube and checker plays depending upon what you know about your opponent's cube and checker plays; live you might miss a play because you are playing on an unfamiliar board where you don't see the checkers as well; and lastly, live, there is more pressure...you care a lot more about whether you win or lose and that might provide too much adrenalin or cause a "fear factor" to keep you from taking chances you might easily take against the bot.
