In your opinion, what is the minimum number of matches required to establish if someone is cheating with a bot?
I will venture my own opinion. It is not about the number of matches, it is usually about the number of games (or number of moves, if you want to go that that far). So, take 5-6 games that are not all played at DMP and analyse them. If a single match has a decent number of games, and therefore moves, you probably have enough information already available.
A few years ago I played for low stakes on PartyGammon (I think it was called that?). I got cheated even when I played for $5/point or less. I analysed recorded games with certain players and found out I was playing gnubg 0-ply. I know this because there was an error rate of ZERO for my opponent!
The conclusion I reached (apart from don't ever play online for money) was that the site condoned this practice and were almost certainly the instigators of the BOT in the first place. i.e. this site was quite happy to cheat me, even at low stakes.
BGRoom is a site I don't know, but my experience elsewhere concerning online money play will certainly not help in me ever trying online money games again.
