Carl Lewis was an amazing athlete, and no doubt Lance was too, but how can anyone have any sympathy for Lance considering what he did to destroy honest people who tried to stop him or report him. Even his repentance greatly lacked compassion for all the people he hurt.

Who knows how many Lance and Carl and all the other athletes in Baseball and other sports were competing with who also cheated and what pressures they were under to excel? How outstanding would they have been in a perfect world where nobody used drugs? We'll never know the full story. I truly feel some compassion for these people, even though they cheated...but they didn't deserve to hold records and titles against predecessors who clearly didn't have access to drugs that didn't even exist in those earlier years. And what Fatboy said was true....drugs was a form of cheating that did improve their racing abilities.
