on a serious note, i have a friend who is a Dr in Vegas, a world renowned sports doping doctor among other things.

back in 2001 or 2002 he told me exactly what Lance was using-the blood doping, which allows more oxygen to bind with your blood, hence Lance peddling in the final stages peddling up the hill as if it were flat land beating everyone with less effort as a result of the drugs.

I mentioned it on a small forum like this, i was told i was nuts, fair enough. I chose not to argue.

My take away is this, I have used every steroid i could get my hands on in a responsible way for 20+ years and suffered no lasting effects. I have a pro baseball player(retired) who lives here at my house, currently. We have had many conversations about drugs and sport-they go hand in hand. He used everything as well.

Where the problem comes in is-diminishing returns, like in BG, if you make too big of a play it can bite you in the butt real bad. That's what happened in pro sports. A-rod gets a $240M contract, everyone starts taking a extra 200mgs/week chasing the $. It got out of control.

The greats in any sport do what they have to do to win, i don't fault that. Lance knew about blood doping long before the other guys, so to his credit he did what he had to do to win. I don't see drugs in sport as cheating like loaded dice in BG or those boards with the key fob thing that changes the dice.

Perhaps i'm biased. Perhaps i'm wrong. I know many will disagree with me and that's cool. I have never cheated in pool, BG or anything i have played, but if I was a pro athlete i'd use drugs for performance enhancement. sounds contradictory i realize that, but for some reason that's my view.

I would never suggest to kid that that's the path to success. Or anyone, for that matter.
