I just looked at the bracket at

David got one of the 7 byes in round-1 of the Main (25 entrants); so he went 4-0 to become the undefeated player. And, indeed you were 7-1 going into the 1st match between you and David. You then beat him twice, becoming 9-1 to his 4-2.

I am a big believer in a one match final, between the undefeated player and the once-defeater player, due to two reasons. (1) their records are lopsided, typically the once defeated player has won two more matches than the undefeated player. (2) in a two-days-only event for the format, the number of rounds is shorter, allowing players to make flights or socialize or wind-down. ________patrick
