Thanks, Chuck. Bill Calton confirms this in his post. He was 7-1 entering the finals against a 5-0 David Rockwell.

I think this means that when they sat down for the second, deciding match of the two they played, David was 5-1, while Bill was 8-1, records that are hardly equal. To win the whole shebang, Bill needed to go 9-1, racking up 150% as many wins as David would have needed if he had won at 6-1.

I think that gives too much of an edge to the player coming through the Main Flight.

Just my two cents, of course.
