Or was G11 actually obtained by an iterative process feeding back the interim tables until convergance was achieved?

Right, as I understand it. It was derived from 0-ply checker/2-ply cube GNU rollouts (that is, starting with GG/GS & working outwards).

Also to my understanding, eXtreme's MET was derived the same way, except using eXtreme rollouts.
