In Response To: 2 Cube Max $$ Strategy (Alejandro)
Suppose player A adopts a strategy of cubing whenever there is a market losing sequence and playing the checkers optimally as though it is DMP.
Without loss let's assume that any optional take is taken and accept that there is no market loss possible before a player's first chance to cube. Since player A is playing as though it is DMP, player A wins at least 50% of the games. Player A wins the full 2 units possible on every victory and thus has equity of at least 0.
By symmetry, against an optimal player A's equity is at most 0. A's strategy attains that value against an optimal player and thus is an optimal strategy against an optimal player.
Cubing at first opportunity also attains that bound.
