2 Cube Max $$ Strategy

Good question dave,

Often something I've pondered has been cube strategy in money games against opponents playing a cube limit of 2. People tend to double very quickly in these games which is what I would expect. After asking one of the german pros about it he reckoned about 66% was fine. Although as Bob was saying it can't technically be wrong to double above 51% since you have +EV.

OTOH it becomes clear that waiting until you have a completely efficient cube of 75% is a blunder. This puzzles me since you rate to win twice as many points on average if you can consistently double at 75% rather than 66%.

Could one of the more experienced players outline the rationale behind doubling earlier rather than waiting to gain further cube efficiency and hence more equity.
