1 in 20 is pretty high IMO. By analogy, consider voice recognition word processing. If you had to correct every 20th character, it would be easier to just type.

Perhaps there are other ways to help the software work, or work faster. Some examples:

1. Using "transcription dice" that have a different color on each face. Then the software could just look for specific color squares. Same for a doubling cube.

2. Training the software to see the user's checkers. Users who videotape their own games would only have to do this once.
