In Biba's Standards of Ethical Practice (http://www.backgammon-biba.co.uk/rules2013.htm#standards) it states . . .

4. The concepts of fair play and good sportsmanship shall take precedence, and players should not take advantage of their opponent due to a “technicality” or accidental occurrence. (e.g. there is an external disturbance and a player neglects to take his turn, hit his clock, or move a checker off the bar).

We only play LM (although technically this isn't illegal) and I would rule that the move be fully played.

Of course, if they only had two checkers each on the board then it's a no-brainer. A roll of 61 wins outright.
