Looking for a Mechanical Turk for XG

The backgammon world continues to search for a cheap or automated way to automatically input a position from a picture or video into XG.

I have been told that this has not been developed because the cost to do so is far to high given the potential for profit, as the number of people willing to buy or pay to use the software is too small.

Perhaps there is someone out there who has an idea of what the cost of making such a software would be, and perhaps there are enough backgammon players out there willing to put up enough to fund the project.

I can see why it might be very difficult, if not impossible, to convert a video into XG, but it seems like a picture of a single position would be doable.
