With the aid of Wikipedia, it would appear the current number would be well north of 247, with 304 as an absolute upper bound.

As Bob says, the Prince could also have visited some former as well as current (for him) places, just as I have friends who have visited 50+ major league baseball ballparks**. He lived in a good era for such, perhaps visiting "French West Africa", "French Equatorial Africa", and so on, as well as their successor states.

Seems to me that in any case, 250 is the perfect number to set the award at.

**I counted, and for me as someone in their 50s the number of possible MLB parks for the current 30 teams would be roughly 65. My own number is in the mid-20s, representing both my strong fandom and my pathetic travel record.
