I can't for the life of me figure out why GnuBG is hardly ever mentioned here. If not for GnuBG y'all would be at the mercy of greedy developers charging you hundreds and making you jump through hoops to update or transfer what you already paid for. Thanks to GnuBG open source programmers have learned the ins and outs of backgammon AI programming and can offer you software at a reasonable price. If a proprietary system suddenly becomes obsolete with the latest version of Windows, you can take an old XP machine, format it, install Linux and have an excellent BG analyzer (GnuBG) running for FREE with ZERO hassles. So.... hehe.. rather than crawling back to GnuBG when your precious paid for applications become obsolete and you are abandoned by the programmers who lured you in with fancy statistics of miniscule analysis improvements over the FREE challenger that they HATE, I suggest y'all start giving GnuBG the recognition and respect it deserves. Hey.. if you tried it a few years ago and it was a bit cranky, try it again. The latest version is in my opinion EXCELLENT!!. And it is FREEEEEEEEEE !!! DUH.. HAHAHAHA
