As Promised -- Registration Fees Explained

In Response To: Monaco Registration Fees?? (Stick)

We are doing our best to provide a total tournament experience worthy of the World Championship designation. Monte Carlo is a world-class destination providing an exceptional venue for this event. Organizing and producing the tournament is not an inexpensive proposition. Our objectives are to provide an excellent event, to control participants costs as well as possible, and to cover our own expenses.

We hope players and guests appreciate these efforts. The Gala Dinner -- particularly in this 40th anniversary year -- is a spectacular tradition, finally returning to the Sporting Monte Carlo. A substantially large number of the Championship players and their spouses and guests, very much enjoy this component of the tournament schedule. Certainly, it is not inexpensive and please understand that we must pre-pay all reserved seats in full in order to secure them; however, we trust the players and guests recognize the associated costs and consider the Dinner costs as a component expense of the entire tournament-week experience.

We do realize that the initial announcement of the Gala Dinner being required for all players was not consistent with our intent -- we have since modified the registration fee costs to make the Gala Dinner requisite only for the Championship players. The dinner is optional for players in other divisions; however, advance registrations are required of all to assure a seat. Please note that, though we hope all players opt to enjoy the social experience, the tickets are transferable and may be sold to other guests.

To clarify, the 330 Euro Championship division tournament registration fee includes the following.

Opening Cocktail Party

Gala Dinner at the Salle des Etoiles at Sporting Monte Carlo -- Dinner and show with 1/2 bottle of wine per person. (For Championship Division players only -- tickets are transferable)

Awards Presentation Cocktail Party

Plus entry into numerous raffles with the opportunity to win sponsored prizes.

Some examples are:

1 awarded -- weekend (2 nights) for 2 people at Fairmont Monte Carlo valid from September 1st to June 30th 2016.

2 awarded -- dinner for 2 at NOBU (max value 300 €).

2 awarded -- dinner for 2 at the Horizon Restaurant (max value 200€ for each voucher).

2 awarded -- SPA treatments of 60 min each.

An additional exclusive scheduled event is yet to be announced. Future details will follow.

The Intermediate and Novice divisions will incur a 150 Euro registration fee, which will not include a ticket to the Gala Dinner.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Thank you.
