Back in BG's heyday (late 70's), Canada had issues with the game being considered gambling. I don't know if that has changed. Maybe some of our northern neighbors can clarify. Except for a one year attempt (by John Brussel who unfortunately died not long after) at a tournament in Montreal, I'm not aware of any ABT sized/designed event in Canada in the last 35 years. Although not to make light of John's death (i.e. the more important downer), that tournament happened to be the weekend after 9/11 which put a major crimp on attendance from the US. So that didn't help, either.
