This is a good variant. It illustrates a point that will come up elsewhere when playing. So anyone, why is it that with the 11pt made (variant) the plays are interchangeable whereas with the 10pt made (original) there's a clear difference?

Part of the details comes up in another way that I can think of offhand when you're deciding if you want to split your back checkers to the opponent's bar point. You are much more likely to do so if the opp's checker(s) are on his 10pt opposed to his 11pt.
