On a more careful reading of Bill's original suggestion, the distribution appears to be [8/4/0] if the bye-guy wins, and [12/0/0] if the non-bye-guy wins.

With the N/N approach (the one I first suggested and was followed eight or so years ago, and Neil independently suggested here), the distribution is [6/5/1] if the bye-guy wins and [9/2/1] if the non-bye guy wins.

N/N seems more balanced, but gee, I could have had all 36k if I had only thought to have proposed Bill's suggestion!
