Backgammon Ethics Questions

First game of first round in Open Division of tournament. Your opponent is someone you never heard of before. In a non-contact race situation you pause to count and determine that you are ahead 2 pips, 78 to 80. Just as you are finishing your count your opponent says, "78 to 90, you are ahead 12 pips".
A. Should you take advantage of your opponent's miscalculation and double, expecting him to quickly drop?
B. If you double and your opponent re-counts correctly (78 to 80), should he say, "I misled you. It's 78 to 80. You can take back your double if you wish" or should he take the cube because he realizes that you were trying to take advantage of his counting error so why shouldn't he take advantage of your cube error?
C. If you double and your opponent quickly accepts and says, "Ha, ha, I tricked you into a bad double," who is more unethical: your opponent for intentionally tricking you, or you for trying to take advantage of your opponent's miscalculation?
