In Response To: Backgammon Ethics Questions ROLLOUT (Daniel Murphy)

Daniel, I'm not as sure as you are that a legal move can't be replayed. Let's try this scenario: I start to count a position. My opponent says, "You're ahead by 12 pips". I stop counting and double. He says "Oops, I miscounted. You're up by 2 pips. You can take back the double." I take back the double and roll. An observer calls the director. You contend that the director will require the double to stand. I think that most directors would allow the double to be taken back.
