In Response To: Defending vs. a 1/3 backgame (John O'Hagan)

Although generally I would rather not pile up spares on top of the made prime against a backgame, both for flexibility and for chances of completing the prime, here I do not think making our 9 point is important, and I would not want to hit, and not want to expose a blot that could be hit (in order not to have to hit in the near future) -- I want opponent to have to play all numbers. So I'm left with considering 13/8 10/8, 13/6, and 13/11 10/5, and think the last might be best by a little.
