Fastest Windows laptop under $500?

This isn't passing my sniff-test. The webpage Michael D. lists says my Intel 6500 is 'rated' 1.316 compared to the A8-4500m at 2.719 (factor of 2+ faster) yet my XG benchmark is 806k pos/sec, not much worse than yours.

The first thing I'm wondering about is whether you're getting full usage of your CPU's. (E.g. is it possible you are only using half of them? Is your CPU speed on a governor to keep things cool? Lots more questions can be asked.)
