Here's a reason why BG should be touch move

Coincidentally, I saw today's FB clip of Dana's checker shuffling at the same time I was corresponding with a member of my club over another checker shuffling incident - one that he discovered in the YouTube video of a 2012 Chicago match between MCG and Mary Hickey. I don't understand why anyone who plays in the Open Division needs to shuffle checkers back and forth. Everyone at that level should be able visualize the various plays and play Touch Move.
